Meet our Performers
Peyton Cole
Peyton Cole is Director of Music, Organist, and Pianist at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church. A Pennsylvania Native born in West Grove, Peyton began studying piano in his senior year of high school. He initially enrolled as a composition major with a focus in voice, however he quickly

realized his passion for the keyboard and began to pursue a degree in piano performance. During his time at West Chester University, Peyton has been active as both an accompanist and soloist through various honors recitals, convocation, student recitals, and fundraiser concerts. Most notable of these was a series of concerts he took part in with the Chancel Choir of First Presbyterian Church in West Chester. As their accompanist, he traveled and performed with them in different cities such as Vienna, Leipzig, Dresden, Prague, and Budapest. Performing in famous venues such as the St. Peters Church in Vienna , served as both a major source of inspiration, and an invigorating musical experience.
While he was working through his degree in piano performance, Peyton simultaneously studied the organ and church musicianship. From 2022-2023, he worked and studied as the Assistant Organist at First Presbyterian Church in West Chester, PA. Throughout 2023-2024, he was employed as the Principal Organist at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Wilmington, DE. Upon his graduation Peyton began his new role as the Music Director and Organist at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE and now continues his musical studies with David Schelat.

Hansen Protasi

The Hansen-Protasi Group was inspired by the ornate arranging found on such albums as “You and Lee” and “Birth of the Cool.” The way the horns interact with each other and the rhythm section to create such beautiful and mysterious homogeny inspired Nathan Hansen and Francesco Protasi to found a group of their own: a means of expanding their writing/arranging capabilities and exploring the idiom they wish to imitate. The results are not to disappoint. Nathan and Francesco’s arrangements bring delightful energies to classic standard songs, and the players serve the music beautifully.

Can you imagine our life together as a congregation without music? Or worship without the sounds of hymns and anthems? Of course not! Music is that integral to our life together: it lifts our spirits and speaks for us beyond words. At LBPC, we’re blessed to have dedicated volunteers who lead us all in worship as they sing and play and
a new music director, Peyton Cole, in his first season with the church, who relishes the collaboration of making music in community.

Did we mention we have a lot of FUN?! If you’ve ever wanted to be part of making music that has such meaning in a supportive group, please join the Senior Choir, Bell Choir, Children’s Choir or The Trebles (girls choir). No previous musical experience is necessary! All are welcome – LBPC members & friends!
